![]() Outside, John B and the pogues yell at JJ because they are "sick of his shit". JJ gets visibly angry and tells John B to watch his mouth. Right before JJ is about to leave the house with the money that he found, John B stops him and recites what JJ previously told him a few episodes earlier, that if he keeps going down this road he will end up like his father. When JJ is at Barry's house looking for money that he can steal, John B follows him inside in an attempt to talk some sense into him. Panic-stricken, he and Kiara yell at Pope to hurry with calling 911. ![]() When Sarah explains briefly what happened JJ immediately looks around for Topper and asks "where the hell is he". They run to the tower where they find John B laying on the ground and Sarah holding him while crying. While JJ, Pope and Kiara are waiting in the Twinkie at the Hawk’s Nest for John B to finish his meeting with Sarah, they hear Sarah scream for help. John B reasons that if they are willing to kill for the gold then it must be out there, but JJ snaps at John B and says tells him that he'll end up just like his dad if he continues down this road. When John B does get back, he jumps at him and quickly explains what has happened and they carefully sneak away from Shoupe in the HMS Pogue, and when they get somewhere more private JJ explains everything. Īfter JJ got released on bail, he went to the Chateau to wait for John B to get back. JJ then uses that same gun to save John B's life at the kegger when Topper tried to drown him. When JJ and John B are at the motel, JJ mocks him about Kiara and pushes him to make a move on her. Later on when John B mocks JJ by implying that he is weak and feeble. The morning after the storm, we see JJ sleeping on John B's couch, they then go fishing together after clearing out the HMS Pogue. They are shown to trust each other a lot, like when John B was in the well and he in a panic yelled for JJ despite Pope being there as well. John B later said that he should have learned a long time ago to not listen to JJ because he is full of bad ideas. John B describes him as his best friend and as the best surfer he knows. They are often joking and making fun of each other. They are seen fishing, hanging out and getting in trouble together, both in the main plotline and outside of it. John B and JJ are first seen as best friends, both members of The Pogues. It is also implied in The Lucky Compass that John B kept the rooster mainly for JJ. JJ also seems to sleep over at John B's house a lot, presumably because of JJ's abusive father. ![]() A lot of the time, John B is the person JJ goes to when he needs a partner in crime to do something stupid with. They are shown to trust each other and rely on each other a lot, and while they sometimes fight they still support each other and defend the other if needed. They're shown to have a very close relationship, both being able to go to the other whenever needed and they can be brutally honest with the other, without the relationship being affected. In the Pilot John B describes JJ as the best surfer he knows, a mild kleptomaniac and "a future tax cheat". ![]() Rose has shoulder-length, dyed blonde hair and brown eyes.JJ and John B have been best friends since before the Pilot, since the third grade. She doesn't seem to have a super close relationship with Sarah, Rafe, or Wheezie throughout the first season.įollowing her husband's fake suicide, Rose became much more protective over her stepchildren, ensuring that they were all able to escape from their old life.
